There must be at least eight or ten points in the game where you're forced to just sit there and wait for something to happen. And other than the cloaking ability, it was a little disappointing how the Arbiter played exactly like the Chief. But then the level right after that one is the exact same one you played as Master Chief before except you're going through it in reverse and you're dealing with Flood instead of Brutes. You're playing as the Arbiter for the next level. It's the one that gets a Flood thing stuck to his face. There's this one level where you're Master Chief and you're trying to reach the Prophet of Truth (i think, it might have been Regret) before he escapes. And just for good measure, they gave some sections a top and bottom layer - even though there's nothing there on the bottom - and added a bunch of ramps, stairs, and doors interconnecting both of them. It's like they took a level going from Point A to Point B, looked at it and though, "gee, this is kind of boring" so they decided to widen the whole thing and stick a bunch of random twists and turns everywhere so instead of actually walking straight from Point A to Point B you'll just wander around trying to find where you have to go. The levels themselves are interesting enough, but the variety within those levels is so messed up. Also, SPOILERS.įirst off, the level design totally sucks. Because of that fact my little rant here won't deal with any of performance and technical issues, only with the game itself. With the help of a little guide on the intarweb I got my buddy's copy of Halo 2 running on XP.
